The Miners Job

Tom was a miner, his job was to go down into the mines daily and search for gold. Using his pick-axe he chipped away at the rocks searching for gold. Weeks and months went by, he searched and searched but he found nothing. He chipped away at the rock until one day he heard a loud ‘clink’,  he picked up his shovel and dug through the dirt, he sunk his dirty hands into the mud and pulled out an ancient artifact. Tom turned it in and they believe it was lost millions of years ago by the Egyptians. It was put in a museum for the world to see and Tom never had to work again.

TREASURE

Deep down somewhere in Brazil I was on an adventure. An adventure to find lost ancient gold! As I strolled around the Amazon looking for a clue or something, a loud creek came from a river near by. I sprinted over wishing for something interesting. I took a small look at the big Amur Tiger in front of me. It stared back taking a big growl and ran after me. I ran as fast as I could holding my bag.

Until, a big hole appeared. As I jumped down I noticed that the tiger stopped and went back to the river. THUD! I landed bumping my head. As I got up and searched the room, a gold viola lay beside me!

When I was young my mam used to tell my stories about a man searching for an ancient chest but the man could never find the chest. It was my 13th birthday today and I asked my mam for my birthday if I could search for the chest.  My mam agreed so we went to the beach to look for the chest. We dug up so much sand and we found nothing until my mam screamed my name.  She found it!  We brought it home and we opened it. It was a gold viola with silver strings

One day I was taking my dog for a walk in the woods near our house, and I looked down for a second and when I looked back up again Cassie (the dog) was running down the hill. Now I go down the hill too and call “Cassie, stay” and when I reach her, she’s sniffing something ancient, and clearly lost. I pick it up and have a look. It looks like a viola. When I get home, I tell mum all about the viola that I had brought home with me, because she asked a lot of questions.

The next day we put up posters saying “gold for anyone who owns up to owning a viola, searched for by Roisín Mac. Please call 087 343 7876.”

Don’t ask why it was there. So, I went outside and into the forest. Then, I noticed I had my gold watch on. I took it off and realised I was lost. Then I heard the strangest thing, a viola playing an ancient song.

Recently I went to visit ancient Egypt, with my dog Timtastic. Anywhere I go I always bring my viola with me to help him drift off to sleep. The Abandoned House Part 2…..

Her friends got scared and wanted to go home but they wouldn’t leave without Mary, so they all went up to the house together. Clive and Carol went upstairs while James and Aimee searched the ground floor. Clive and Carol checked every room but nothing, the last place to look was the attic.
