It was my first day as a scullery maid (in Victorian London) and the housekeeper (Mrs Kelly) had me going to and fro places. I had made one very special friend named Brenda. She’s the kitchen maid and has been working at McGriff’s Hall for 5 years now. I have to get up at 5 in the morning and go to bed at sunset. I have to carry a gigantic load of10kg to all 365 rooms!!! My arms are killing me. At least the tea was nice enough. The coal I lifted earlier was heavier than I expected!! I’m exhausted
Sadhbh,

I think you have been able to show how hard it was to work during that time. I really like the detail you provided to create a picture for the reader. Well done.
